Streamlining government’s response to organized crime
The Civil Forfeiture Amendment Act will improve fairness, clarity, and efficiency of civil forfeiture in B.C. and support the pursuit of illegally acquired criminal assets.

Strengthening international education oversight
The Act sets clear legal requirements institutions must meet to host international students. It will give government stronger tools to inspect designated institutions and take enforcement action when they are not meeting requirements, helping maintain B.C.’s reputation for high-quality international education. It will also prohibit non-designated institutions from advertising, enrolling, or delivering programs that require a federal study permit, protecting international students from bad actors.

Enabling online renewals/replacements of driver’s licences, IDs
Amendments to the Motor Vehicle Act will enable ICBC to renew or replace driver’s licences, BC Identification (BCID), and photo BC Service Cards online, saving people time and helping reduce waiting time for other in-person appointments.
